Home Worm Farm System
This worm bin system is created from an old plastic cover
An old recycled meat crate was used for the worms, we drilled holes in the bottom
and placed layers of food on top of the worms then covered and placed in a corner of the
garden that recieves no sun and not too much water.
The bin is placed at an angle in order for any excess water and fluid to drain easily
into a container placed below the pipe.
This liquid is regularly emptied into the garden as a extra nutritional feed.
We do not use this directly on plants and seedlings but rather add to the soil in preperation of garden beds.

Adding organic Waste to your bin
Layer chopped veggies and organic matter in the bin
We add wet shredded paper and a small layer of top soil to keep unwanted bugs and fruit fly away from the bin.
It's like making lasagne, just make simple layers, the more chopped your paper and organic matter is the quicker you will be able to harvest your compost.
